Mod Love

I had the pleasure of doing flowers for a wonderful couple this past weekend! Robin and Bryan were married September 12, 2009 at Saint Peters Church in downtown Jackson, MS. The reception following the ceremony was held at Welty Commons. What a great venue! The outdoor area is beautifully manicured with plenty of space for your guests and a fountain that you can dress up with a floral or candle treatment. The main house is an amazing historic home with a two story foyer, the most beautiful color blue walls, and stunning crystal chandeliers. It is a true Southern masterpiece! If your looking for a great event venue in Jackson check them out @ http://www.weltycommons.com/.

When Robin came to me she had an idea of what she wanted, but she really knew nothing about flowers. After flipping through a few floral books and answering a few simple questions, I knew exactly what direction to take it in. She knew she wanted green flowers, green apples, and something classic with a modern touch. To achieve this "look" we used modern white ceramic container and a mixture of black antique pedestal vases filled with green blooms and white and blue accents. And of course, we did not forget to include apples! They were everywhere! We used classic flowers such as hydrangea and roses, but in unique modern colors. Take a look at the pictures below to see the finished product.

Green apple tablescape for main food table. The open cut callas are so cool!

Love, love, love this photo!!! Carnations rock! Super green roses. Yummy!
Lounge area on the wrap around porch of the main house. Beautiful furniture from Leigh Anne @ www.prettypresentationscatering .com. They did an amazing job!
Green cymbidiums in white ceramic square vases. I love the moss accent!
White carnation ball centerpieces set on top of black antique pedestal vases and antique blue hydrangea in white ceramic square vases.

Robin's bouquet was made up of white hydrangea, white dendrobium orchids, and white phalaenopsis orchids. It was simple, unique, and beautiful!

Thanks to Tom Beck @ http://www.beckphtographic.net/ for the wonderful pictures! Tom was my floral photographer for the day, but I also want to mention Karla Pound of http://www.poundphoto.com/. She was the wedding photographer for the day. I love her work and I can't wait to see her pics from the day! Thanks to all of the wonderful vendors!

Stay tuned for my blog on the VIP Fashion Show flowers later this week. We are doing some really cool floral installations!

Thanks for tuning in,

Tulip loves you!
